SIZ: Built on Sustainability, Designed Without Harm

SIZ is more than a fashion brand; it’s a movement with purpose. Every decision we make is guided by our commitment towards reviving the climate and style that uplifts people. We are working to transition towards fully sustainable packaging, ensuring that our progress aligns with our commitment to a greener future. It’s only the tip of the iceberg.

At SIZ the duty all starts from the source. We choose materials that limit harm and protect our shared environment. We ensure that every piece we design and create carries intention, dedication, and sincerity. When you choose SIZ, you choose fashion that truly makes a difference.

Our Stance: Why SIZ Rejects Animal-Derived Fashion

At SIZ, our rejection of animal-derived fashion is deep-rooted in our commitment towards safer and healthier production. The use of real fur, leather, and exotic skin carries a cost far greater than aesthetics and style.

Animals are bred in confined and unsanitary conditions, facing stress and suffering, which breach animal rights. They are treated more like inventory rather than livestock, which is inhumane and unfair for these innocent creatures. It harms both animals and the ecosystem we all heavily depend on.

Traditionally leather production is often tied to insensitive farming processes, which require intensive farming and heavy chemical tanning processes, which inflict harm on local communities. While the fur industry relies heavily on practices that cause unnecessary suffering to these poor animals in the name of low production costs.

We believe that no creature should pay in the name of fashion. By choosing cruelty-free and sustainable materials, SIZ demonstrates that luxury and empathy can coexist side by side. Our designs protect the planet and ensure that you can strut around in style and reflect the belief that true fashion never inflicts pain.

Impact on Animal Welfare

The fashion industry significantly impacts animal welfare, with millions of animals affected by the sourcing process, production, and disposal. Clothes derived from animal products cannot carry any statement aside from death. No life should be sacrificed so we can look and feel good.

Annually over two billion animals are murdered for their fur, skin, wool, and so much more. These animals are denied the basic respect and honor that they deserve. In the fashion industry this sense of responsibility doesn’t exist, but in recent times many brands are becoming conscious and working towards it.

Animals are being raised simply for their parts, which are deemed profitable, while the rest are discarded. This is an extremely wasteful and dishonorable cycle, which SIZ refuses to be a part of.

In an industry where trends shift overnight, it usually results in excessive waste and, far too often, the loss of innocent lives. We refuse to participate in that gnarly cycle. Rather, we create pieces with intention and humanity to empower your individuality. The best part? You can show off your piece without death lingering in the air.

The Human Cost of Leather

Animal-derived products don’t only harm the animals and the environment. But it also impacts the workers who are tirelessly working.

Tanneries expose workers to a vast range of hazardous chemicals and bioagents. Substances that no human should ever handle without proper protection. This constant exposure leads to severe and often irreversible health complications. Apart from the toxic materials, the working conditions themselves are far from safe. With inadequate safety measures and poorly maintained machinery, workers face a daily risk of accidents and life-threatening injuries. They may leave many with permanent disabilities or, in worst-case scenarios, cost them their lives when they were merely trying to make a living for themselves.

Additionally, many tanneries violate labor rights due to the laborers being paid below minimum wage rates and inhumane conditions. Moreover, many tanneries exploit labor in order to reduce production costs whilst taking advantage of these people’s unfortunate circumstances.

Innovating With Purpose

SIZ tries to find innovative and creative ways to design our products so they’re fashionable while being green. Scraps are inevitable in the garment industry, but we have found ways to reuse them to give them a new purpose.

We use our scrap fabrics from previous products and give them a new life in the form of bandanas, patches, sleeve hemming, and so much more.

Changing the industry overnight is not possible. But our act of care matters.

The sustainable changes we make, like what product we use, who we support, and what we demand from our producers, matter.

Change doesn’t happen overnight, but it starts with our intention and actions.
