How It All Started
Victoria’s Secret was founded in 1977 by Roy Raymond and his wife, Gaye Raymond, in California. The brand got its name after Queen Victoria in depiction of the taboo and hidden nature of lingerie and underwear at that time. Roy Raymond established Victoria’s Secret when he went to buy lingerie for his wife and was faced with racks of terry cloth robes and ugly floral prints. He took matters into his own hands, so he borrowed money from his in-laws and banks to bring Victoria’s Secret to life. This was symbolic for that time and has paved the way for other lingerie brands.
The Hiatus That Changed Everything
Why did such a beloved and iconic fashion show as the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show go on such a long hiatus? Over the years Victoria’s Secret and the fashion industry have been facing critique and judgement with body positivity and the MeToo movement. Hence, went on a six-year-long hiatus. The “Me Too” movement is a worldwide effort to stop sexual assault and harassment. It became well known in 2017 when important people in the entertainment industry were accused of these crimes.
However, in their six-year hiatus, Victoria’s Secret had taken a step back in order to listen to the criticism and take action accordingly. Now Victoria’s Secret has had a revamp. This time the runway returns with a renewed vision. The vision that celebrates inclusivity and individuality, bringing back the timeless allure that made it iconic in the first place.
The 2025 Runway Unveiled
The long-awaited Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show made its grand return on October 15, 2025. Fans from all over the world had set their alarms and notifications on so they could watch the show live and see it in real time with everyone. The event took place in its traditional home in New York City.
It’s never just about fashion. This year, the show turned up the energy with performances from Karol G, Madison Beer, K-pop sensation TWICE, and the iconic Missy Elliott.
This year’s runway was diverse. From veteran Gigi Hadid to Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee to viral sensation Quelin Blackwell has graced the runway with their presence. These angels strutted the runway with grace, showcasing the creative and sensational collection, which was overseen by the creative director, Adam Selman.
Every outfit and walk was glamorous and iconic. The Angels appeared as if they had fallen from heaven, gracing the runway with effortless glam.

Emily Ratajkowski made her stunning debut at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2025 at the age of 34.
She wore this stunning set featuring a bubblegum pink lace bra and a high-cut thong with even more lace embossing. Paired with these beautiful open-toe, bedazzled heels with embellished straps, which were laced up to her knees, paired with long gloves and large pink gemstone earrings. An angel needs her wings; her wings stood out. She wore a breathtaking three-dimensional orchid made up of pink sequins and embellished petals. She looked like an ethereal angel blooming from a bud to a flower.
This season the show really encapsulated empowerment and inclusivity. Tookes’ outfit was simply breathtaking.
She was adorned with a transparent netted gown, which was crafted from intersecting gold strands creating this royal weave, which was adorned with light-catching teardrop beads. While walking those beads reflected light, creating this glowing aura, which really highlighted her ethereal energy. Her wings, which were also netted with gold strands, brought greater attention to her alluring look. The dress draped fluidly over her body, which looked sensational and seductive. While the rest of her body was draped in the net-like material, it highlighted her baby bump, which took all the spotlight. It created a bold statement of femininity and power. It embodied the fact that you can still look and feel desirable while being pregnant.
Stella Maxwell graced the runway again after 2018, which marked her return. She walked during the hot pursuit segment and embodied exactly that fiery, dramatic passion and desire.
Stella wore this red leather bodysuit, which accentuated her curves while having flowy sleeves to keep dimension. Her wings stole the show—massive, sharp angel wings, which were embedded with square metallic sequins. On the runway, it looked fiery and radiant. The entire look came together effortlessly with her simple, strappy red heels.
